How To Install A Rain Gutter System

Use a measuring tape to determine the length of the gutter. Connect the diverter s flexible hose to the port on the side of the rain barrel. At the downspout locations trace the outline of the flange that will connect the gutter and downspout then punch through it with a sharp chisel. Where the tube passes by the downspout from the gutter we installed a y fitting and drained the roof water from the gutter system directly into the main drainage line.

Cut a two inch long notch in the front lip of the gutter with tin snips to join a rain gutter section with an inside or outside corner piece. Slide the splices on as far as they ll go. Finish off the curves with sheet metal shears.
