Using the roofing nails and straps provided attach one strap using two nails on the outside of the attic ladder frame at the extreme right hand corner near the door stop block.

Run the rope through the pulley that was not attached to the eye hook.
Do not extend the legs to the floor yet.
Make sure you have someone helping from the garage level so you don t get stuck in the attic.
Glue the plywood to the back of the drywall piece.
Then run it through the pulley attached to the attic beam.
The rope will now start at the eye hook it is tied to run down to the free pulley on the floor below back up to the pulley on the attic beam and then back down to the floor below.
Cut out the ceiling joist and any wood blocking that s in the opening.

Place attic assembly on supports.
Build the lift platform and door then set the platform assembly on the door.
Screw the spring brackets to the door braces.
Cut a piece of 1 4 inch plywood to the same dimensions as the rectangular piece of drywall that you cut from the ceiling.
Nail a new header between the joists on the opposite end of the rough opening to complete the framing.
