Build the roof as normal with the trim felt paper and metal flashing.
How to install a metal roof on a lean to shed.
Lay the new metal roof right on top of an old roof or remove the old one first.
Step 1 measure the roof to determine how much metal you will need.
Install the roofing screws vertically along each rib in the panel.
Compute the depth of the shed by taking the square root of the difference.
Measure the width of the outside wall and cut the board with a circular saw to the same length.
Use a 2 by 4 inch board for a short roof up to about 8 feet a 2 by 6 for a longer one.
Then trim all edges of the roof with metal trim made for that purpose.
Then attach the metal roof material with screws make for roofing.
Make a ledger board to fasten to the existing wall and support the upper end of the lean to roof.
Be sure the larger edge is laid so that the small edge of the next panel will overlap it.
Either way a metal roof can add years to a shed because it is impervious to bugs and animals and it weathers well in every climate.
