Though super glue can be removed with acetone that chemical as luck would have it also creates a reaction in acrylic in the form of significant scratching.
How to glue plastic sheeting.
Apply cement solvent on both sides of sheeting if you re applying to flat joints.
Avoid touching the piece with your bare hands afterward to minimize oil residue.
Sand the surface to be glued.
Once the solvent has dried your pieces of plastic sheeting are now welded together into one piece of acrylic.
Then with the addition of some light pressure two pieces of acrylic can be permanently joined.
When gluing plastics together always work in a well ventilated area.
Acrylic can also be bonded using a different method one that involves specifically designed acrylic glue.
Using your brush completely coat the plastic sheeting and the other surface with contact cement.
A chemical burn can be caused by the glue and the acrylic sheet coming into contact with one another one that may cause extensive white clouding within the plastic.
Firmly press the plastic and the other surface together.
Wash with soap use a specialized plastic cleaner or soak the plastic in isopropyl alcohol to clean.

This exact same process can also be used to glue sheets of plexiglass or perspex to one another but it will not work on other plastics.
Wipe away any excess adhesive using a paper towel.

Allow acrylic sheeting to dry for at least 30 minutes before moving.
For maximum durability and strength let sheeting dry for 48 hours.

Remove grease from the plastic.
