You may want to leave the brass in the oven for longer depending on the look you want.
How to darken copper sheet.
First and foremost clean your piece of brass or copper with either alcohol or acetone to remove any oils or dirt so that the patina is consistent throughout the piece.

Allow to set for 1 hour then reapply solution observing where you missed applying on the first coat.
Spray the copper with window cleaner then coat the item with the aging compound.
Spray windex cleaner on fixture to break surface tension leaving it on when you apply patina solution.

Spray item with darkening solution.
Pour about one inch of ammonia into a pint or quart size glass jar.

After about an hour remove the item from the plastic and apply the patina again.
The yolks of hard boiled eggs can produce sulfur and related chemicals that react with the copper to change the color to a darker brown or black.
Bake in the oven for an additional hour.
Do not touch the surface that you want to patina.
Afterward remove the item from the container and place it on the cooking sheet.
Use two or three eggs for copper jewelry or more if you have.
Place the object into a plastic bag to create humidity.
First soak the brass in a mixture of cider vinegar and table salt in a plastic container for about an hour.
