Spray a five to ten foot section at a time because otherwise the gutters may dry before you have cleaned them. Wet the gutter with a garden hose after pre wetting the area. Brush the gutter with a stiff bristle brush. Another option is to spray the gutters down entirely at the beginning so that you can turn the hose off.

Prep the surrounding area. Attach bottle to hose. Adjust the red tip depending on the height of the gutters. You can also make a paste with a small amount of water and cream of tartar which will act as a cleaner and gentle buffing agent in one.

If you haven t cleaned the debris out of your gutter yet do this first with a garden trowel. For that mix half cup of household liquid detergent with a half cup of bleach in two gallons of water. Use this solvent to scrub off the outer surface of your gutters with a stiff brush or a piece of cloth. Rinse the gutters with a hose.

Using a power washer clean your gutters to get the initial mildew and grime off. A mix of bleach with oxydol laundry detergent applied with brush. Allowing a few dry days before cleaning your gutters will allow the debris to dry out making the chore much easier. Use a sprayer attachment if you have one and spray the gutters from the ground to rinse them.

Use some elbow grease or a power washer. Apply the chemical according to the manufacturer s instructions. Rinse with water and if necessary reapply the chemical to remaining stains and brush again. Once the mixture is applied to the gutters let it stay for 10 15 minutes before rinsing it off with a garden hose and a nozzle sprayer.

Start your gutter cleaning task near the downspout and work toward the closed end. When possible avoid cleaning gutters after a rain.
