Genie garage door starts to close then goes back up.

Then sometimes it reverses at the bottom sometimes it reverses right after it starts moving. Check if the safe t beams red led light. Get logic board replacement. Just recently when the door closes it reaches the floor and then goes all the way back up again.

When the logic board wears out it can cause your garage door to close then open and vice versa without explanation. Close the garage door with the opener and watch it closely as it closes. You push the button to close the garage door. This means it is in the engaged position.

If the garage door does not close completely or begins to close and then opens back up again the down limit switch needs. In order to fix this you ll want to make small changes to the close limit setting until the door opener knows to stop once the door has reached the floor. Adjust the limits as needed. Then manually lift or close the door until the carriage locks into place.

You should now be able to operate the door using your genie garage door opener. Well sometimes it does. Garage door starts down then stops and goes back up or safe t beam system malfunction. Your garage door s logic board is the brain of your garage door opener.

Disconnect the garage door opener from the door and go through the troubleshooting. Check your sensors on each side of the garage door and make sure that boith lights are solid.
