If the door does not close completely without hesitation. Cycle the garage door through the opening and closing actions using the control on the garage wall or the remote unit from a vehicle. The first is an obstruction in the path of the door and therefore in the path of the sensor. If they re turned on in both the sensors then there is no issue with the power supply.

If not re engage it. As they are mechanical parts they will need oiling from time to time. If you feel any kind of disturbance call an expert. For safety purposes do check the sensors of the garage doors are working correctly or not.

You will find that the door will only move an inch or so in the close direction and reverse. The transmitters remotes will not work to close the garage door. Check for and clear any obstructions in its way. The problem is either due to a blocked path between the sensors dirty eyes loose wires at the sensors or at the motor head or just bad sensors.

If it is be sure that the lenses are mounted five to six inches from the floor on either side of the garage door opening. Look for small led lights on the sensors. If the problem persists check to see if the red safe t beam led indicator is blinking. If both the red source and green sensor lights are on and not blinking then the door mechanism is working properly.

Check to see if the emergency release cord was pulled recently check to see if the screw inside the rail is turning. Two types of accidental obstructions can cause the safety sensor to prevent a garage door from closing. You can also disconnect the sensors altogether but doing this will prevent most garage doors from working. Luckily you can set most automatic garage doors to a manual mode to bypass the sensors.

If one or both of the lights are off check the fuses breakers and plugs for problems. A common cause of a malfunctioning garage door sensor is lack of power supply. Make sure the carriage is engaged.
