Garage door runs but does not open.

Home owners say that they can hear the motor running but the opener simply will not operate the door. Getting out of the car at the end of a long day to open the garage door can be frustrating especially when the automatic garage door opener sounds like it s working but isn t. In the middle of going up as tonight the door halted leaving a gap between the door and the ground. My wife pushed the door opener a few more times but the door wouldn t move despite the motor responding.

I do not hear the motor running but the light does turn on. This is frustrating especially if you re trying to get your car out of the garage. Even after putting new batteries in the remote the garage door still is not. They can hear the motor going but the door itself is not opening.

There are a number of possible causes. One garage door malfunction that is very frustrating is when it will not open. I aligned the laser but the wall switch kept blinking. So i got up in the box and reprogrammed the remotes.

Carol on september 30 2018. There are a number of reasons why the motor will run but the chain doesn t move. Car wall and control on the wall garage door will not open. When i returned from work today i pushed the button on my remote garage door opener but the door didn t budge.
