Why do i have to hold down the button to close the garage door.

I have to hold down the bottom in the garage to bring the door down. Does anyone know how to fix this. Can you hold the button down to make the door go down. My garage door will open by just pressing the button once but to close it i have to hold in the button until it fully closes.
